3 Recipes For The Perfect Summer Cocktail

White Zinfandel Strawberry Sangria

Makes 4-6 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, thinly sliced
  • 1 Fuji apple, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup whole fresh basil, stems attached
  • 1-2 tablespoons elderflower cordial, to taste
  • 3 cups Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi White Zinfandel, chilled
  • Raspberry seltzer water, to finish and to taste
  • Lemon sugar, for rimming glasses

Directions

In a large pitcher, combine the fresh sliced strawberries, sliced Fuji apple, basil, elderflower cordial, and white zinfandel. Refrigerate the mixture for 10-15 minutes. Add the raspberry seltzer water and give it a gentle mix with wooden spoon just before serving. Rim wine glasses with lemon sugar and garnish with fresh basil. For a fun touch, use short stemless wine glasses with paper straws. Serve over ice, if desired.


Cava Sangria Brandied Fruit and Garden Mint

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup brandy
  • 1/2 cup peach schnapps
  • 1 cup diced mango
  • 1 cup sliced strawberries, plus more for garnish
  • 2 beautiful sprigs of mint, plus more for garnish
  • 750 ml bottle of Cava (sparkling white Spanish wine)

Directions

Combine brandy, peach schnapps, mango, strawberries and mint in a pitcher, up to 12 hours in advance. Chill mixture, allowing all the flavors to infuse the brandy. Just before serving, add Cava to the brandy mixture. Serve over ice and garnish with a sprig of mint and a strawberry.


Cabernet Sauvignon Stone Fruit Sangria

Makes 4-6 servings

Ingredients

  • 750ml bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon
  • 1/2 cup brandy
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 cups club soda
  • 1 plum, sliced
  • 1 nectarine, sliced
  • 1 orange, sliced
  • 1 lemon, sliced

Directions

In a large pitcher, combine the fresh sliced plum, peach, orange, lemon, brandy, Cabernet Sauvignon wine and sugar, mixing until sugar is dissolved. Flavors are best when refrigerated 1-2 hours, but it can be served immediately. Add club soda and gently mix. Serve over ice, if desired.
