Zumba took the world by storm, but that’s so yesterday. Fitness crazes come and go, and the latest trend sweeping the nation is Piloxing, which combines Pilates and boxing to work up an intense sweat.
Piloxing isn’t new, but celebrity endorsement is helping it reach the exercising masses. The brainchild of Swedish dancer and celebrity trainer Viveca Jensen, Piloxing is a standing cardio fusion that incorporates the agility of boxing, the sculpting and stretching of Pilates and dance moves to burn maximum calories, build lean muscles and increase stamina.
Weighted gloves also are used during Piloxing workouts to help tone the arms and maximize cardiovascular health.
