Classic Texas Barbecue & Sophisticated Sides in Midtown

Pitmaster Brett Jackson, a Louie Mueller Barbecue alum, and chef Eric Aldis (also the chef of Corner Table in River Oaks) joined forces to open their own barbecue joint, Midtown Barbeque.

Classic Texas barbecue, sophisticated sides and smoked specials, such as whole fish and osso buco, are the calling card of the industrial Midtown destination with a full bar and patio.

Particularly noteworthy are the moist brisket and spareribs, which are tender to the bone. Before it goes in the smoker, chicken is brined in honey and ancho chilies for a spicy-sweet finish.

Here you can also eat your veggies: Not just classics like pinto beans but a variety of spicy housemade pickles, red cabbage salad and beer-braised greens, all grown in the chef ’s garden.
