Donned in their finest jewels and black tie attire, nearly 600 Alley Theatre patrons attended an affair to remember—the 2015 Alley Theatre Ball, inspired by Shakespeare and the connection of Visual Art and Performing Art—on Saturday, May 9 at NRG Stadium.
Guests were treated to tunes by the David Caceres Band, hors d’oeuvres and a multi-course dinner courtesy of Jackson and Company and a silent auction featuring sought-after trips to Paris, New York and Costa Rica, as well as, stunning art and exciting items such as an experience driving a Formula 1 race car.
During the evening, Alley Theatre Managing Director Dean Gladden presented honoree Margaret Alkek Williams with a proclamation from the mayor proclaiming the day a “Margaret Alkek Williams Day” in the City of Houston.
The climax of the evening was a comedic performance by the renowned Jay Leno, who had the audience laughing throughout the show.
This year’s ball proved to be a successful soirée raising an excess of $1 million. Alley Theatre patrons are now looking forward to the re-opening of the newly renovated Alley Theatre.
