Event Spotlight } 2015 Houston Symphony Ball

Nearly 600 guests chimed in at the 2015 Houston Symphony Ball: Hip to be Square, the first of the orchestra’s second century, on Saturday, May 2 at Hilton Americas-Houston.

Chaired by Lisa & Jerry Simon and Sherry & Jim Smith, the Ball was certainly an evening to remember with musical performances featuring headliner and Grammy Award winner Huey Lewis and The News and Grammy and Tony Award Nominee Michael Cavanaugh.

During the cocktail reception, guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in the lobby and perused the silent auction. Featured auction items included sought-after packages ranging from luxurious trips to a priceless opportunity to not only sit on stage with Symphony during a live concert, but also to receive a specially commissioned antenna baton signed by the Houston Symphony’s renowned Music Director, Andrés Orozco-Estrada.

The Ball hit a high note raising more than $1.57 million for the Symphony’s Education and Community Programming.
