Event Spotlight } “Once in a Blue Moon” Pool Party

Everything under the bright full moon turned blue for child abuse awareness at the “Once in a Blue Moon” Pool Party held on Friday, July 31.

The Thread Alliance and The Houstonian Club welcomed close to 500 members and guests at The Houstonian resort and lap pool to celebrate the last blue moon until August 2018 because they believe “child abuse should never happen, not even once in a blue moon!” Blue is also the color for child abuse awareness.

Guests enjoyed a water obstacle course, dancing, Smurf’s “Once in a Blue Moon” dive-in movie, swimming, complimentary blue snow cones, blue cotton candy and s’mores. Campus Harris County constables helped to protect children with their own Child Fingerprint/DNA kit and Profile Keeper.

All proceeds from the Arbor Grill‘s blue moon menu benefited The Thread Alliance, which included Blue Moon beer, blue agave margarita, blue corn chips with guacamole and salsa, blueberry and grilled chicken salad and grilled flat iron steak.

In efforts to raise awareness for child abuse prevention, the event also raised over $2,000 to benefit The Thread Alliance, a non-profit organization dedicated to ending the cycle of child abuse.
