Football Fans Charitably Kick off NFL Season With Boys & Girls Harbor [Event Coverage]

In preparation for the official kickoff of the NFL season, a crowd of 350 football fans celebrated Boys & Girls Harbor’s fourth annual Fantasy Football Draft Night on September 7, 2016 at NRG Stadium.

Casual football attire made for a relaxed atmosphere as guests were greeted by Texans cheerleaders and they made their way to the stadium’s Club Level. Celebrity coaches including Doug Dawson, Chester Pitts, Vince Rachal, Kenny Houston, Ed Biles and Charlie Frazier mingled with guests and gave them tips on player picks. Sports Director and anchor for KPRC Channel 2, Randy McIlvoy, emceed the evening’s draft activities.

Event chairmen for the second year, Diane Englet and Darayus Pardivala, and honorary chairman, Fred Newhouse, scored big points with a silent auction featuring autographed sports memorabilia, big boards and an exciting live auction. When the final whistle blows, the Fantasy Football winner will receive two tickets to the 2017 Super Bowl!

The evening has raised over $750,000 in four years to help Boys & Girls Harbor reach their goal to provide healthy, comprehensive residential care for children who are victims of abuse, neglect, abandonment or family hardship.
