If you’ve had a little work done lately, you’re not alone. Statistics released by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery indicate a 12 percent overall increase in cosmetic procedures performed in the United States in 2013—the largest since the Great Depression of 2008.
Improved technology, less invasive treatments, access to procedures and a rebounding economy are cited for the upswing in nips, tucks and other aesthetic enhancements among men and women.
The top five surgical procedures include liposuction, breast augmentation, eyelid surgery, tummy tuck and nose surgery.
The top five nonsurgical procedures include botulinum toxin, hyaluronic acid, hair removal, microdermabrasion and photo rejuvenation.
