Top Food Trends for 2014

If you’ve got a hankering for a zucchini chocolate-chip cookie or hemp seed sprinkles, you’re in luck.

At the annual Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Food and Nutrition Conference held in Houston, food and nutrition experts revealed the 2014 food trends that lean toward healthy.

Among the categories to be a palatable hit this year: sweetened veggies, pea protein, such as that found in green pea flour, chia and hemp super seeds, bold seasonings (think kimchi tortilla chips), and new and improved energy bars.
