True to his New York City roots, Benjamin Berg evoked a night at The Carlyle on June 8, 2016 to celebrate the first anniversary of B&B Butchers & Restaurant. The gregarious and generous proprietor hosted his best customers, along with several of the city’s elite, for the private affair.
Glasses of bubbles, Bellinis, white sangria and wine were aplenty for partygoers to grab before they took the climb to Bemelmans Bar. The décor by Johnathan Andrew Sage featured a wall swathed in a tapestry of Ludwig Bemelmans’ artwork.
Guests enjoyed cocktail music provided by the Richard Brown Orchestra, cigarette girls from Neal Hamil Agency, passed hors d’oeuvres including Chef Tommy’s bacon, a Sabrette Hot Dog stand and dinner plates with sliced tenderloin and seared tuna. Mariachis kept the fiesta going while tequila shots in authentic Mexican shot glasses were passed.
To top off the evening, Richard Brown struck up his band to play crowd favorites such as “Stand by Me,” “Dancing Queen,” “Uptown Funk” and more.
